This New Expressway Will Reduce Travel Time Between Delhi & Mumbai To Just 12 Hours!

The information in this post might be outdated

The central government has announced that a new super expressway will be created between Delhi and Mumbai with the aim of cutting travel time by 12 hours! At the moment, it takes a little over 24 hours to cover the 1,400km distance between the two cities.

As part of the Bharatmala Pariyojana Programme, the Delhi- Jaipur and Vadodara-Mumbai super expressways will be created to halve the time between Delhi and Mumbai. Gurugram will first be connected to the Jaipur Ring Road, and Vadodara to Mumbai. Further, expressways will be built from Jaipur to Kota {Rajasthan} and from Kota to Vadodara too.

Work on the first phase {Delhi- Jaipur} and the last phase {Vadodara-Mumbai} of the project have already begun. Once completed, the super expressways will provide faster connectivity than trains {which, at the moment is 16 hours}.

We know it’s a long drive, but when last-minute flight tickets are too expensive and train tickets unavailable, this super expressway could be your saving grace. Mumbai road trip, anyone?

We first read about it here.
