Docu-Drama: Khusrau—A River of Love, at IIC

The information in this post might be outdated

Khusrau, Darya Prem Ka is a modern-day docu-drama dedicated to the 14th century poet-composer, Amir Khusrau Dehlavi, in appreciation of his works. Using the dramatic technique of dastan goi, a form of traditional storytelling, it will narrate the life of Amir Khusrau.

Ankit Chadha and Rene Singh will be exploring Delhi’s historical buidings, Khusrau’s Hindi poetry and what it means to be a Sufi.

Expect some surprising twists and turns in the story and some brilliant renderings of poetry by qawwals, and in beautiful calligraphic forms by Anis Siddiqui. This is a 40-minute film by Yousuf Saeed in Hindi and Persian with English subtitles {you have no excuse to not go!}.
