We’ve found the coffee store that has been supplying coffee powder to the Rashtrapati Bhawan, The Ashoka Hotel and all the ministries for more than 30 years. And no, a cup of their rich, aromatic coffee doesn’t cost a bomb but is priced at a mere INR 20.

For Your Coffee Cravings

The government-run India Coffee Centre {different from India Coffee House} just behind PVR Rivoli in Connaught Place has been around since the 1940s. For ages they’ve been serving quality coffee to the President’s house and other government ministries.

India Coffee Centre sells Arabica plantation coffee and filter coffee for INR 600/kg and INR 300 for half kg. Since we’re one of those perpetually broke beings, we’re more than happy with the soul-satisfying cup of coffee priced at INR 20. The coffee sold here is grown in Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, while it’s roasted and blended in Bangalore.

The place also has another outlet near JNU and both the outlets are open from 9.30am – 5.30pm but are closed on Sundays.

You might’ve missed India Coffee Centre on your many trips to Connaught Place but now, you certainly have a reason to visit this gem.

So, We're Saying..

The coffee tastes amazing, the price is decent and it’s what the President of India drinks, so there’s no harm in trying a cup {or buying the whole pack}. Plus, we think that India Coffee Centre is definitely a landmark worth visiting.
