Last Minute Diwali Party In The Making? These 5-Minute Snack Recipes To The Rescue

You might not have all the time in the world to put together an elaborate Diwali party complete with butlers et al but you can still throw a pretty good bash. Let these recipes guide you. And don’t worry, you won’t be slaving in the kitchen for hours.

Potato Cheese Canapes

When potatoes come together with cheese, they make the best finger food. Ingredients 1 pack of McCain Potato Cheese Shots 1 bunch of fresh coriander 1 pack of cheese slices 2 tbsp Thousand Island dressing 10 black olives pitted {for garnish} 1 red pepper diced {for garnish} Method Cut cheese slices into ½ inch pieces, one piece per canape. Remove from the freezer and fry McCain Potato Cheese Shots for 3 minutes. Slit the cheese shots lengthwise to two halves. Place a small leaf of parsley. Place a cheese slice on top. Place a dollop of thousand island dressing. Garnish with a slice of olive and a piece of red pepper. Serve!

Lemon Garlic Aioli

A dip so delicious that you can eat it with absolutely anything especially McCain Cheese Pizza Style filling Mini Samosa. Ingredients 1 bulb of Garlic pureed 4 fresh lemons 1 cup olive oil Salt to taste Pepper to taste Method Mix oil and juice of the lemons in a bowl. In a blender add the pureed garlic, salt, and pepper and start blending. While it is blending, power the oil mixture slowly for emulsification. When the aioli starts looking creamy, you know you have the right consistency. Enjoy this dip with McCain’s Mini Samosas on offer that you can fry up in a few minutes!

Schezwan Bites

When things get bland at the party, a bowlful of this will get the crowd jumping. Ingredients 1 pack McCain Chilli Garlic Potato Bites ½ onion finely chopped 2 cloves of garlic finely chopped 1-inch ginger finely chopped 2 tsp tomato ketchup 2 tbsp Schezwan sauce Chopped spring onion {for garnish} Method Remove from the freezer and fry McCain Chilli Garlic Potato Bites for three minutes. Saute onion, ginger & garlic in a pan. Add the ketchup and schezwan sauce and stir. Add in the potato bites and toss. Garnish with spring onions and serve!

Chocolicious Fries

The combination of something sweet with something salty is so heartwarming.   Ingredients 1 pack McCain French Fries 1 tbsp honey ¼ tsp cinnamon powder 1 tbsp mixed nuts roasted 1 tbsp chocolate syrup 1 tbsp strawberry syrup Salt to taste Gems {for garnish} Method Remove from the freezer and fry McCain French Fries for 3 minutes. In a pan pour honey and then saute the fries in it. Sprinkle some salt. Add cinnamon and mixed nuts and saute some more. Move it on a serving plate and drizzle chocolate & strawberry syrup. Sprinkle Gems on top for some colour.
