When two friends, Alisha Jeswani and Aditya Sood, watched the movie Chef, they couldn’t help but be inspired by Jon Favreau’s character. They simultaneously had an epiphany and decided to celebrate their common love for food. What followed were their resignations from their corporate jobs and a plan to start their very own food truck.
The Forklicious Food Truck is all set to open its doors, tentatively on 8th August. What's in store for you? They’re preparing a bunch of Continental fast food items, with an Indian twist. Think burgers, pizzas, meal bowls, sandwiches, desserts and drinks; something you can quickly devour before you rush to your next lecture. In case you're at a loss when it comes to picking something off the menu, the peeps at Forklicious highly recommend the Jerk Chicken Burger, Bombay Sandwich, and Churros.
Making use of ingredients such as sofrito, jerk flavour, and cajun spice, Forklicious proudly classifies itself as gourmet, but at affordable prices, so that even students can indulge in some deliciousness without burning a hole in their pockets.
The food truck’s going to initially plant itself on Bungalow Road, starting the first week of August, but soon after, you'll see it revving around all of North Campus, spreading cheer and good food to all the folks who are lucky enough to be studying in the area.
