If you want to stay in the heart of Goa {read Anjuna}, but be far away from the “maddening crowd”, then Michele’s Garden Cafe and B&B could be your respite. Plus, did we mention the French crepes and budget, gorgeous stay?

Rooms With Views

If you’re looking for a budget yet comfortable stay, then you need to make your way to Michele’s in Anjuna. The B&B offers three rooms, each with a different view, and design. While the Orange Room is set on the first floor, it opens out to a private balcony among thick foliage, and French expat Michele promises that you will be able to hear the chirping of many birds while you are residing in this room.

The charming Blue Room overlooks the village of Anjuna and comes with French windows and a private balcony too. And guess what? Michele’s also a has the Treehouse room, which is actually set up in a tree; a spiral cafe from the garden below goes up to this room. This rustic-style cabin is smaller than the other rooms but comes with its own charm, perfect for coupling, we say.

The Garden View room is located on the ground floor, and will open out straight to the cafe area. But it’s well hidden from view under a thick foliage of bougainvillea.

Each room comes with a private shower, Wi-Fi {who needs it though?} and a gorgeous balcony, of course.

French-Style Brekkie

Michele’s cafe, fittingly called La Vie En Rose, is set in a garden with pretty tiled tables, garden furniture and lots of greenery. Though they are only open for breakfast {also open to non-guests}, what a brekkie it is. Think crepes slathered with gooey chocolate sauce or honey, and loaded with strawberries, bananas, whipped cream, and the works, waffles and pancakes piled high, thick cut French Toast and breakfast cakes.

There’s also savoury crepes with ham and Béchamel and lots of cheese, eggs done to your liking and freshly brewed coffee {always served in a French press} along with the cappuccinos and lattes. While you tuck into breakfast here and engage in friendly banter with Michele who is a darling host according to us, don’t forget to say hi to her rather distinguished looking Russian blue cat, Bijoux. She also has a several other cute doggie friends, who hang around the place and are always up for some petting.

When In Goa...

Though it is located in a bylane off the busier beach-side locations of Anjuna, there is plenty to do, eat and see around this charming B&B. Walk down for a five minutes and you will find yourself at Anjuna’s German Bakery, and a ten minutes of solid walking on paths between fields of green will bring you to the happening area of Little Vagator {Thalassa, Antares by Masterchef winner Sarah Todd and the absolutely brilliant Blue Bird are all located here}.

You can explore the bylanes of Anjuna village and or just get a taxi to the nearest beach {Anjuna is too crowded, head to Vagator instead}.
