Is it just us, or does it seem like the Capital is beginning to take its food super seriously? Fresh on the heels off the Palate Festival, and Gurgaon is gearing up for its own edition, with slight alterations of course. The Gourmet High Street pitches itself as a food and drink festival, and more than bringing together favourite restaurants, bakeries and eating joints, their focus is on gourmet products and renowned chefs, sampling liqueurs and alcohol, and meeting mixologists. Think of it more as a food show, rather than a festival, and you'll be closer to home in understanding what to expect.

The show itself is broken up into two sections - The Culinary Grind and The Sipping Turf. The Culinary Grind features celebrity chefs {both homegrown and international}, the chance to see them cook live, and get their tips, tricks and hacks on cooking techniques. The show will give you the opportunity to watch them in action, and if you're fortunate enough, the chance to sample some food off their grill. When we say celebrity chefs, let us open with talking to every MasterChef fan in the house! Sarah Todd will be there {model turned chef}, as will Manish Malhotra {Indian Accent}, Vikas Khanna {our very own Master Chef}, Kunal Kapoor { The Leela}, Anahita Dhondy {SodaBottleOpenerWala}, Kishi Arora {Pastry Chef, Foodaholics} and Chef Nishant Choubey {Dusit Devarana}.

Exit Culinary Grind, and enter Sipping Turf. This section will give you the chance to discover the art of mixing, serving and consuming {best} drinks. From classic cocktails, adventurous mocktails, sprits, liquors and wines, the tasting sessions will broaden your existing know how of alcohol, and will most definitely let you make full use of all the divine food being passed around. Of course, they'll have on call a line-up of the finest sommeliers and mixologists, giving you the 411 on glass selections, drink recipes, and techniques, and the finest Indian and International alcohol.

Besides the two biggest attractions, you'll have the chance to shop for all things gourmet, after sampling and exploring how best to use them. Our guess is, you'll find at least majority of the ingredients all the fancies use in their master classes.
