Following numerous complaints that commuters are using fake markers to avoid being penalised during the odd-even rule {there were cases where diesel vehicles were found with fake CNG stickers}, the Delhi government has launched a drive to check cars across the national capital.
Transport Minister Gopal Rai has said that the government has purchased a device through which the genuineness of a CNG sticker can be checked. Anyone found violating the rule will be fined, and a case of cheating will be registered against them.
Considering how bad the air quality is, we think this may be a little step in the right direction. What do you think?
