An International Women's Day Marathon Is Happening In Gurgaon & Entry's Absolutely Free!

The Gurugram Marathon is a women-only event happening on International Women's Day and is organised by the Government of Haryana. It doesn't matter if you're a beginner or a pro, since they have four race categories- 5km, 10km, 21km and 42.2km.

What is super cool about the event (apart from the fact that it's a women-special event), is that the first three finishers (in each category) will get a prize money reward, and also, that there is no registration fee.

Just FYI, the aim is to celebrate women’s social, cultural, economic and political achievements and accelerate the process of gender equality.

The venue for the marathon is Cyber City, Gurgaon. More details on the exact marathon route will be updated on the organiser's Facebook event page shortly.

Prize money for first three finishers is as follows: 42.2 km (INR 2 lakh, INR 1 lakh, INR 50,000) 21 km (INR 1 lakh, INR 75,000, INR 50,000), 10 Km (INR 75,000, INR 50,000, INR 30,000).
