What Makes It Awesome

If you're looking to skip the loud parties and go for an offbeat way to welcome 2018, a trip to Vanghat Jungle Lodge might fit the bill. Said to be one of the remotest wildlife lodges in the country, Vanghat Jungle Lodge is located on the fringes of Jim Corbett National Park.

A 2-km hike, followed by a short trip on a makeshift bamboo raft is the only way to reach the lodge, which is tucked away in the midst of the wilderness. With two kinds of stays on offer - Stone Cottages and Mud Cottages - the place promises you a wild and rustic experience. Steering away from fancy structures and facilities, the cottages here are constructed with locally-sourced clay and feature thatched roofs.

With walking safaris (this is one of the few lodges that offer walking safaris into the forest) and birdwatching trails to explore the wild, the lodge lets you celebrate New Year in the midst of serene and scenic surroundings. And, you might even get to spot a wild beast or two! Homemade food and fun campfires are also on the cards to complete your experience.
