Cheese…mmmm…

Apologies, we got lost for a moment there thinking of all the oozy, stringy, creamy goodness that is cheese. If you love cheese the way we do, you’re going to love what’s coming: Foodhall is celebrating all things cheese this month, and we, the good samaritans that we are, have picked out our favourites from their collection.

Hey, no need to thank us; we’re up for anything. But first, cheese.

Marinated Sun-dried Tomato & Basil Bocconcini

marinated sun
We’re loving the sound of bocconcini {bite-sized mozzarella chunks} marinated with sun-dried tomatoes and basil. We’d be happy to eat these heavenly little dollops all by themselves, but with a little extra effort you can make yourself a truly spectacular salad too.

Want something hot for lunch? Use the bocconcini as the base for a creamy pasta and your tummy will be thanking you soon enough.

Basil & Lemon Ricotta

We have one word for you: Sandwiches. Slice up a loaf of sourdough bread, lather on some of this tangy Basil & Lemon Ricotta, lay out a sliver of salmon or two over it, and finish off with a drizzle of olive oil. Voila! you have a gourmet sandwich ready to be enjoyed on a lazy Sunday morning.

Price: INR 200 for 150g

Blue Cheese and Bacon Cream Cheese

Blue cheese1Another new addition to the Food Hall cheese collection, the Blue Cheese and Bacon Cream Cheese can work brilliantly, we think, if stuffed into succulent pieces of chicken breasts and then roasted in the oven. Drool.

Price: INR 300 for 120g

Fresh Dill and Feta Cream Cheese

You don’t have to be Greek to appreciate some good feta, we’re damn sure ‘bout that. Lay out the newly introduced Fresh Dill and Feta Cream Cheese on a wooden platter with some crackers, or scoop some over a cucumber, red onion, and tomato salad for a light, heathy lunch.

Price: INR 275 for 120g

Honey & Walnut Ricotta

honey & walSo, you’ve planned out an intimate dinner with your close friends and you’re wondering what to do for dessert. If you have time on your hands, we say go the cheesecake route with this one.

Don’t have the bandwidth to bake a cheesecake? We totally get it. In that case, we have an easy and delish alternative: Cut up some fresh figs into four wedges each, scoop some of this sweet ricotta on top, drizzle some warm honey on top and add some extra chunks of walnuts for crunch. Yum.
