Momos, Concerts, Masked Dances & More: The Ladakh Festival Sounds Amazing

What's Happening

Ladakh's annual festival, which celebrates the cultural heritage of the region, is back this month. For those of you who have visited the region, this is their biggest festival and it'd be pretty awesome to attend if you're heading there for the first time.

It's a pretty big deal, and done so well. The inauguration ceremony takes place in Leh, with people coming in from all over Ladakh to participate, there are different cultural troupes performing, traditional song and dance happening all over. There are masked dances, all kinds of musical concerts, archery and the locals set up stalls from where you can buy souvenirs (or just other really cool products) and of course, amazing food. It's a dream for photographers to cover—everyone's in their traditional attire, and it's so vivid and colourful (plus the surrounding region is gorgeous), you'd definitely want to shoot this.

How's The Venue

It happens all over Ladakh, but we hear the main action is in Leh, which is absolutely stunning in itself. You're probably living under a rock if we need to explain what an awesome place it is to visit.
