You could even go for one of the many treks organised in the area and take in the beautiful mountain scenery with some scenic pictures to show off on Instagram.

Naukuchiatal, Uttarakhand

Naukuchiatal or ‘the lake of nine corners’ in Nainital is another one. A hill station that remains beautiful all year round, this one is worth taking a few days out of your busy schedule.

Gokarna, Karnataka

Not in the mood for the mountains? Head to Gokarna and chill with a couple of friends on the beaches of this sleepy town. Apart from the beaches, Gokarna has some beautiful temples that you must visit. You can even enjoy the water sports like parasailing, kayaking, snorkelling and baba boat rides in the peak season.

Vattakanal, Tamil Nadu

Looking for something a bit more offbeat? Visit Kodaikanal’s less commercial sister, Vattakanal. A heavenly paradise of never-ending greenery and gorgeous foliage, Vattakanal is a perfect destination for a peaceful vacation in the mountains.

Hampi, Karnataka

Take in some culture at the UNESCO World Heritage site, Hampi. Though, it is known primarily for its historical relevance, it is lesser known as a great destination for a taste of the hippie culture as well. So enjoy a joint trip of great fun rolled in with an enriching, cultural experience at Hampi with its ancient boulders, temples and Anegundi the quiet hippie haven.

Bir Billing, Himachal Pradesh

Sick of visiting the same old places in Himachal Pradesh? Visit Bir Billing near Kangra for those mountain town feels. A hub for paragliding and handgliding in the country and it’s also great for the spiritual vibes you’re looking for in the mountains. You can also visit the monasteries, tea gardens and the Tibetan Colony here.
