The Scoop

Designer Manish Bansal, who showcased his collection as a Gennext designer at Lakme Fashion Week last year, recently launched his standalone store in Shahpur Jat. He has also launched his Summer Resort’16 collection which has been inspired by the novel The Boy in Striped Pyjamas by Irish novelist John Boyne.

The Style

Called Friends & Fences, this new collection tries to capture the beauty of a child’s innocence at the time of war—exactly what the novel is about.

Manish Bansal has made use of colours like indigo, fawn, and white, and traditional Indian embroidery techniques to symbolise fences, and clustered beads & sequins to symbolise friendship. Denim chambray and checks feature heavily in this collection, giving it a super comfortable look for the summers.

What We Love

The unisex style of the collection is so fresh! We love the patchwork checks on denims and the loose, yet tailored look of the collection, which we feel, captures the essence of the novel quite well.

Who Is It For?

Anyone who likes denims and checks, and has an androgynous style would love this! Also, if you’re a fan of the novel {or movie}, this is the way you can let the world know.

Price: Starting at INR 3,000
