Gimme Mo | The MoBox at Monkey Bar

Looking to catch up with your loves but sick of the ‘where to go - what to eat’ conversations? Twist it up at Monkey Bar with the MoBox, designed to share for all types of visits.

If you are going to get drinks – behold – you can be your own bartender. The cocktail MoBox comes with pre-measured ingredients, the equipment needed to create your chosen drink and a live private lesson from a member of the bar staff {and if you are lucky, Suhail – the man behind the recipes}. We tried a Citron, made with Absolut, lime juice, sugar syrup and an orange slice, and a Jameson Ginger & Lime, which contains the ingredients in its name.

Along with the extra satisfying drink that you make yourself, if it is finger food you crave, the Starter MoBox consists of three small plates of your choice. Our favourite small plate was the Coca with Goan chorizo and feta, while the vegetarian raved about the Mushroom galouti. For even more joy, all starter boxes come with potato wedges, beetroot chips AND fries!

This flexible concept can also triple over as a very hearty Mega MoBox, which is an all-encompassing bento of sorts; wherein you can choose two small plates, a main and a dessert to make a wholesome meal of it.

You could also avoid the ‘many spoons one dessert’ phenomena and get a dessert Mobox with three desserts that catch your eye.

A mid-week dinner spent with the box, christened the ‘crate-way to heaven’ left us feeling like we had been exciting with our time. We learned new things, we shared, and we were satisfied. A pretty ideal evening.

Notes in my Little Black Book | Perfect for a twist on the usual ‘hangout with friends’

Rupali is an unapologetic foodie with a vocabulary to match. She has a 'unique' sense of humour and you can never be sure what the voices in her head are whispering while you have a perfectly pleasant meal with her. She also claims to be shy {if you see her out in public, go say 'hi!'} Her business card says Graphic Designer and she runs her own firm - there is also, unsurprisingly, 'healthy junk food' all over her office so help yourself when you're there!
