Here at LBB, we love celebrating food; Indian and Global cuisine alike. So, imagine our delight when our favourite gourmet food store Foodhall announced their monthly homage to all types of food from around the world. The month of April looks to celebrate the make-merry spirit of Mexican fare!
Walking into Cantina– The Mexican Food Fiesta {that's what it's called} will instantly uplift your mood. They've got specific ingredients for some of your favorite Mexican dishes. At their ASA counter, there's a range of chilies, all sorts of peppers and Mexican oregano; in the spectrum of seasonings- flavours for tacos, fajitas, paprika powders and cajun spice mixes. When it comes to this particular cuisine, cheese can make or break your desired taste, so they've stocked up on plenty of options- Cheddar, Monterey Jack and Cojita, to name a few. And in the spirit of always being prepared, there's a section for utensils/ add-ons to cook your food to perfection!
Now, if you're new to the chow, and want to try the food, there's provision for that too, with their live counters. At the Demo Counter, you can expect black bean tostadas, jalapeno and mango quesadillas, popular breakfast dish- huevos rancheros, as well as mushroom and spinach enchiladas. For accompaniments, or perhaps just sampling, they've got a five layered dip, the traditional nachos cheese sauce, salsa, finely chopped jalapenos and even raw mango and pineapple salsa. Now that's got us intrigued. There's also a Salsa Verde bar, with fresh salsa prepared using Mexican green tomatoes, served with nachos, in burritos, or even plain! Rich, wholesome flavour, with authenticity to boot.
And of course, no experience is complete without indulging that sweet tooth! Their bakery and patisserie is going to be churning out delights like coconut flan and warm churros with chocolate dipping sauce. For savoury inclinations, they'll also be preparing fresh taco shells, spinach and beetroot nachos {yum} and tostadas. As far as we're concerned, there's no better time than the present to go get your Mexican fix.
