Mouth-watering Amritsari Fish Prepared the Smart, Healthy Way

Fried and sold on the streets of Amritsar, Amritsari Fish is a great appetiser, especially when you’re out on a hot, summer night with a drink in hand. The only problem though? It can’t become a regular thing, because, well, deep frying.

There’s a solution for that, though. We prepared a version of the Amritsari fish with the Samsung Smart Oven that uses upto 80% less fat, and best of all, tastes as good as the original version. Well, we’re up for that!

Here’s what you need to prepare Amritsari Fish the smart way. Cook and eat away into glory!

Ingredients

Fish fillets {8 fillets}

Gram flour {200 grams}

Garlic paste {1 tbsp}

Ginger paste {1 tbsp}

Ajwain {I tsp}

Red chilli powder {1 tbsp}

Lemon juice {1 tbsp}

Egg {1}

Curd {100 grams}

Oil {as required}

Salt {to taste}

Method

Clean, wash and cut fish into 1 ½ inch cubes.

Apply salt, lemon juice, ginger paste, garlic paste, and red chilli powder, and keep aside for 20 minutes.

Prepare a batter of gram flour, curd, egg, ajwain, salt, and water. Marinate the fish pieces in this batter for 15 minutes.

Place the fish fillets in a microwave safe dish and apply some oil on them.

Microwave on high for four minutes. Turn the pieces over, apply some more oil and microwave for another three minutes, till the fish turns golden brown.

Sprinkle with chaat masala and lemon wedges. Serve hot!
