As an absolute stickler for authentic tastes, and a love for Cantonese cuisine, this particular writer's excursion at K3, at the JW Marriott, was absolutely blissful. They've got their 'My Asia, My Cuisine' festival on, with Chef Yip at the helm, making sure you go home filled to the brim with nothing but the best that Asian cuisine has to offer.

There's an extensive buffet, featuring a range of dimsum {both vegetarian and non-vegetarian}, crispy fried Tofu with sesame, almond prawn balls, and a spicy Thai chicken for appetizers. If you'd be so inclined, they'll prepare sliced glazed duck for you, well-done and flavourful.

For the festival, they're featuring two live counters, where they prepare the famous Singapore Chicken Rice and the Malaysian Laksa soup. Both are delightful; the rice is served up with roasted chicken pieces cooked in a ginger sauce, accompanied by a cucumber based chili sauce onion oil and garnished with fresh spring onion. The Laksa soup is reminiscent of a thin Penang curry, with strong coconut and lemongrass flavours. It has pak choy, other assorted greens and noodles. Chef Yip's influence is evident; he brings a lot of the spices and herbs in from their country of origin, to produce flavour that you won't find at any other restaurant.

He's taken special care to cater to Indian needs, and if you order a la carte, he'll cater to any meat and vegetable adjustments you'd like to make. The buffet has been prepared with exceptional regard as well - there are a variety of options that work for both vegetarian and non-vegetarians. Don't go home without trying Tauhen Lembut Sweet Dengan Gula Malaka, which is his Tofu dessert with a coconut sugar syrup, made from scratch.

When: The festival is on till 29th of March. {the buffet will still be on, as a regular feature, sans the live counters}

Where: K3, JW Marriott, Aerocity
