We spotted Bipasha Basu {one of the brand ambassadors of The Label Life} wearing a sheer white cover up on her recent honeymoon to the Maldives, courtesy her Instagram feed. A wee bit of investigation revealed that the sexy cover up was the handiwork of designer Nikhil Thampi as part of a new collab with The Label Life.
Known for his take on resort-wear, his sexy cocktail dresses and sarees, this is the first time Nikhil is venturing into designing swimwear.
The collection comprises high waisted bikinis {plenty of retro influences there}, a one piece with a plunging neckline, and a one-shoulder number, all in yellows, orange and electric blue. The cover ups {white and black} include wrap styles as well as tie-up one with braid detailing which runs throughout the collection.
There’s also a Utility Tote Bag to lug around your beach essentials like towels, sunnies, SPF lotion and a book of course. Though the collection offers upto sizes XL, it looks highly unlikely that someone above a Medium {their XL is a size 38 chest and 41 hips} could get into these slinky numbers. But at least the sheer cover ups look roomy enough to cover any unsavoury rolls of fat that might threaten to make an appearance.
