What Makes It Awesome

Barot is a serene place, where you soak up the sunlight, where locals are always found in traditional attire, where meals are served hot from the stove, where evenings are spent by the Uhl River amid lovely meadows, where you truly experience how it is to be living with the locals, and where there is no crowd.
The first look of the village is one of those we see in Hollywood movies, approachable yet hidden from the world.
Every year, villagers organise an annual festival on Gandhi Jayanti. Yes will find locals dressed up, attending the festival in groups. Students from different nearby schools participate in kabaddi, kho kho and other fun activities organised by the locals. Not to miss the local dance forms performed by the school kids. Also, you can shop all things local and handmade and try different local cuisines.

Not just that, we have a list of more:
- You can visit bir for paragliding. Bir is 1.5 hours away from Barot.
- Hike from Barot to Wench camp to enjoy the Himalayan culture and old style houses.
- Trek to Nargu Wildlife Sanctuary which lies across the Uhl. The sanctuary is home to the monal, black bear and ghoral.
- Take a taxi from Barot to Kullu via the beautiful Denasar Lake.
- There is also a PWD rest house with Swiss cottage architecture.

What Could Be Better
