In an attempt to promote tourism in Delhi, the city government will soon be replacing the Hop On Hop Off {HOHO} buses with open-roof buses that’ll operate on electricity. These buses will have an open seating deck on top, a covered air-conditioned area below and can accommodate upto 30 passengers.

The GPS-enabled buses will ply on the same route as that of the HOHO’s with the usual interval of 40 minutes. To make a passenger’s experience even better, the buses will be equipped with WiFi, an audio visual commentary system and a professional guide to explain the historical relevance of various sites will also accompany the passengers.

These buses that’ll hit the road next year will operate all-year round but September to April would actually be the best time for open-deck Dilli darshan. The wind in your hair, interesting intel about the city you live in and driving around with good company – exploring Delhi doesn’t get any better than this.
