A plain bottle of booze does not meet all occasions or moods, which is precisely why cocktails exist. While a good cocktail can get your palate into a tizzy, it can also set you back by a few (or not so few) bucks. Are memories of why you steer clear of an exotic cocktail and pick a cranberry vodka instead coming back to you? Well, it won't anymore, at least not with Otane (pronounced oh-tha-nay, Marathi for pour/infusion), a passion project to elevate your drinking experience at home through carefully handcrafted infusion kits. Perfect for those connoisseurs or at home bartenders that enjoy mixing up their own affordable cocktails to pour in great company!
Currently, Otane has three infusion kits, all of which use locally sourced ingredients from their place of origin. All you need to do is pour in your spirit and wait a few hours to let their infusion work its magic. Rum aficionados, for you there's Sooper or Adipoli spiced, a cockle-warming spiced concoction, based on the kind of rich, full-bodied rums our grandfathers enjoyed years ago. This is actually a blend of the founder's grandfathers spice mix, with creamy vanilla, Ceylon cinnamon and hints of citrus. G&T enthusiasts, you can bank on Florified Indigo as the perfect afternoon drink -- distinctly fragrant, sweet and sour citrus with a hefty kick of warming rosemary and herbal butterfly pea notes.
The brand has managed to tap into age groups of people over 21 including people over 50 with their kits! Prices stand at INR 550 (direct pick up in Mumbai) and INR 699 (pan India) -- a bottle gives you 12 cocktails. Their latest, Laidback Scarlett infusion can be used for gin and vodka.
