These Outdoor Events In The City Will Make Your October

We don’t want to sound like wannabe poets, but almost-winter’s literally the best time of the year to walk in the greens, enjoy outdoor music fests, eat lemon tarts at open-air pop ups and just smell popcorn at park gates.

The prospect of doing all this brings a big smile on our face. If you, too, are keen on living life outside your office cubicle, there’s an awesome list of outdoor events lined up this month. Go play favourites already.

The Grub Fest

60 of the city’s best restaurants, vendors, bakers and street food joints will spoil your for choice with an overwhelming variety of food and drinks {woohoo!}. Try out the newbies or stick to restaurants you know too well, but either way, stuff your face like no one’s watching.

International Ethnic Folklore Festival

As a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity, IEFF 2016, will host folklore groups from French Polynesia, Germany, Greece, Colombia, Mexico, Iran, Singapore and five Indian groups. The festival will witness a medley of dance performances, traditional music and workshops and contests - so brace yourself for a day out enjoying these magnificent acts in full traditional finery.

Contemporary Arts Week {Opening}

Even though it’s a multi-venue event, it’ll open at Nehru Park with a host of fun stuff; comedy, live painting, yarn bombing, drum circle, Raghu Dixit Project, circus acts and a tribute to Nusrat by talented artists from all over the country over two days {Oct 15 and 16} included. Asian Hawkers Market

The tastiest Asian food will all come together with sushi, dimsums, ramen, traditional Thai delicacies, Japanese favourites and more. Think all the brands that have had us overworking our chopsticks for a long time including Burma Burma, Dimcha, Chi Asian Cookhouse, The Fatty Bao, Benihana and other restaurants in lead rolls. Tattva Festival

This residential festival is aimed at giving participants a whiff of community living by letting people stay together, cook meals, attend workshops, dance, play music past midnight, practice pottery, mediate or do nothing at all. From personal experience, it’s literally one helluva Zen party.

Let’s just say this is Noida’s Surajkund mela, only without an overarching theme, with about 300 handicraft stalls with artisans from all over the country. In fact, there’ll even be wares from Thailand along with musical performances ranging from rock to Bollywood for 10 days straight. Noida evenings just got more happening, no?
