Petri Latex: A Chemical Art Workshop by Paul Liptrot

What is It?

Paul Liptrot is young artist from the United Kingdom who likes to work on the boundaries between science, art and cosmology. One of his signature styles of art, called Petri latex, is an alchemy where you can control a part of the process and then let chemicals take over, resulting in beautiful pieces.

Here is your chance to learn this beautiful, intriguing process from Paul himself.

Those looking to experiment with a new art technique. Even those who do not consider themselves artists are welcome, as long as they are above the age of 12.

This does not require drawing or painting with brush, because you create art in a very abstract way. Join in and you might surprise yourself.

Why Should I Go for It?

If you’re looking to move beyond the brush as the primary artists tool, this is the place for you. Working with petri dishes, the staple of laboratories the world over, you will create abstract objects using liquid latex, ink and chemicals.
