Ten-Second Takeaway

London-based chef, Shaheen Peerbhai a.k.a. Purple Foodie is making a pit stop in India {in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai} for her bi-annual baking classes.

A Class Apart

210816_Purple-Foodie2 Purple Foodie Is Coming To Town With Her French Baking ClassesIf you’re the kind of foodie who spends many an hour browsing through food blogs, you might already be a fan of Purple Foodie. A blog started by Le Cordon Bleu and Alain Ducasse Education trained London-based pastry chef {her list of credentials are endless}, Shaheen Peerbhai, this is where you’ll get to drool over her recipes for baked delights as well as dishes she has tried during her travels.

The ace baker, also one of the earliest food bloggers in the country, occasionally hosts her sought-after classes in Mumbai {her hometown}. This time around, she will also be making her way to Delhi and Bangalore for the first time, with a bunch of classes lined up. And no, this is not your run-of-the-mill regular cupcakes or muffin-making sessions; Shaheen will be bringing some of her serious French-pastry-training cred to the table, helping you ace extravagant cakes, bakes and breads.

Baking 101

The class will have four, intense demo-based sessions over two days, covering tea-time treats, creative pastries, sweet bakes, breads and savouries. Go on and try your hand at Sticky Toffee Pudding and Toasted Black Sesame Chiffon Cake, or Goat Cheese and Caramelised Onion Tart.

Sign up for the sweet bakes session if you’re hoping to master classic recipes like Lemon & Meringue Tart and Classic Creme Brulee. Want something more experimental? The creative pastries class might fit the bill, with layered goodies like Noisette {a mix of Shaheen’s favourite Cordon Bleu recipes, and French baker, Pierre Herme’s Plaisir Sucre} and Le Snickers—a posh version of the chocolate.
