Fine dining has come to be synonymous with lots of money and lots of time and more often than not, this is true. However, there are a few restaurants in the city which are deviating from this norm and creating fixed menus that are quick and relatively cheaper.

Diva Spiced does an Express Lunch every day which we think is a winner. They’ve basically picked out their most popular dishes from the a la carte menu and made a three-course menu for those who don’t have the thinking time, at just INR 999.

They’ve got dim sums {root vegetables and pork}, salads {we love the Borma’s Tomato one} and delish mains like Sweet and Sour Papaya Curry and Pan Seared Chicken Breast.

Price: INR 999 plus taxes

We’d be lying if we said breakfast isn’t gobbled up in a hurry every single day, but luckily Indigo Deli has recently launched their Express Breakfast menu.

The fixed set includes two eggs cooked your way, a choice of Couscous Upma/porridge/Bircher muesli accompanied by a glass of freshly squeezed juice and a tea/coffee from the menu. We’re bookmarking this one for all our brekkie meetings.

Price: INR 345 plus taxes

Royal China has constantly wooed us with their dim sums, turnip cakes and crispy seaweed but it’s always been an expensive affair, and we’ve had to resort to tricking someone into treating us. No more.

The restaurant has recently launched bento boxes {available between 12pm – 4pm} which contain soup, dim sum, crispy seaweed, chicken in black bean with Hong Kong Noodle or Stir Fried Vegetable with Hong Kong noodle and Mud Cake along with one soft drink on tap.

Price: INR 750 plus taxes {vegetarian}, INR 850 plus taxes {non-vegetarian}
