Rred Hot Grows Up With New Bistro in Cyber Hub

The information in this post might be outdated

It’s the classic coming of age story. We met Rred Hot in the home-delivery café avatar during its {and our} younger days. Bonds were forged, impressions were formed and much like those old friendships that go back a long way, we assume {in the fondest way possible} that quirks and traits remain unchanged.

If you’ve ever met an acquaintance, or indeed a friend, who insisted on the same old shared stories and refused to notice the new wonderful, you’ll know that there is that moment when you need to renew your association.

Going to Rred Hot Asian Bistro in Cyber Hub was something like that for us.

A very grown up version of the café in Sushant Lok, this new bistro keeps up with the Cyber Hub Joneses. And we don’t mean just the décor, with its colourful umbrellas and Asian charms. The menu is smarter, sharper and this is what we were most impressed with – it has widened its range of Asian cuisines but has simultaneously narrowed its focus on each. So there’s more to choose from, and from what we experienced, it’s all good.

To keep up with the extremely evolved palate of Gurgaonites, the menu now offers Japanese, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Korean favourites. But true to original spirit, the menu leans heavily towards Thai specialties and casts one glance towards Pan Asia {as opposed to most Pan Asian restaurants that are skewed towards Chinese, while dipping a toe in Thailand}.

We’re diligent lovers of Thai food, and don’t let people mess with our lemongrass encounters – we tested the Papaya Pok Pok salad, which we liked. We tried the Pad Thai noodles {because needs must!} and we liked very much. We discovered their Grilled Fish Penang Coat, and all fish dishes are made with sole and are thankfully not all about the basa. We dipped into the Lamb Massaman Curry; we loved.

If you’re seated indoors, you won’t be subjected to the inane planning laws of authorities, and can actually wash down a few of their cocktails. We were only too happy to catch a swig of the L Geisha, with vodka, lime and litchi, as well as the Ying Coco Yang with vodka, Thai red chilli, fresh lime and coconut. There are 11 more on the list, which gives us 11 more reasons to visit again soon.

Notes in our Little Black Book |

As much as we’re fans of Rred Hot Café of the olden days, we’re liking this swish and super grown-up bistro version at Cyber Hub. The menu has expanded to include Pan Asian specialties, but continues to do what it does best, which is Thai cuisine. Bento boxes for lunchtime office delivery are also available.
