I was intrigued to know what Ritu Dalmia would do with Indian food in the global capital of fashion and design, Milan, Italy. So I headed to Cittamani, her latest venture in the country she so loves.
The food and decor at Cittamani have a great deal in common. There is a subtle Indianness that is oh-so-elegant, but at the same time, it's still so international and flawless. A perfect taste of India in Italy.
The cocktail menu is particularly interesting and innovative. The food had an edgy Italian flavour to it, while it was intrinsically Indian. I really don’t know how she did that. The little elements all over the restaurant, the tingling tastebuds, the soothing sights, warm and crisp service, and the aromas make it so difficult to slot Cittamani. This one is a masterpiece.
