What Makes It Awesome

Breakfast isn't just the most important meal of the day to me, it's also my favourite so I love finding new things to try. The Coorg Collective is pretty much a dream store for anyone who loves tea, coffee, jams and all that jazz. They locally source the products from artisans, farmers, women's groups to find sustainable (and geographically unique) things for us to try.

They have quite a few coffee options like filter coffee, pure arabica, instant coffee and a blue mountain black tea with floral notes for our daily caffeine fix. To sweeten things up they have raw honey, coconut sugar and passionfruit jam and some pickles to add a little spice. For bakers, they have a super extensive choice of vanilla beans, pods, extract and powder and some spices like cinnamon, peppercorn and cardamom.

They also have local Coorgi specialities like the Kachumpuli, a local Coorgi vinegar made from Garcninia Gummi Gutta, a local souring agent known for its tart flavour profile. For an all time spice, try the brand's Masu Hudi, a spice blend sourced from the Nilgiris that boasts of spices, pulses, raw rice, curry leaves to name a few. This mix can be used for curries, rice dishes and even as marinade.

I love how accessible they're making it for us to get products right from artisans and farmers, so people from all over India can try out things from different regions.
