The Park's New Festival Turns 10: Contemporary Arts, Anyone?

The information in this post might be outdated

What Is It?

The Park Hotels and Prakriti Foundation joined armies in 2006 for a specially curated National Contemporary Arts Festival. The 10th edition of the festival will travel to six Indian cities between Sept 2 - 22. It will see 50 local bigwigs and internationally acclaimed artists perform musical pieces, lyrical dance, create visual art and do theatre.

Who Is It For?

For culture vultures based out of Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai and/or New Delhi.

Why Should I Go For It?

The 10th year holds a lot of promise with celebrated artists like Nerves, a group of three Manipuri men who tell the heart-wrenching story of their state through a choreographed piece {catch a glimpse of their previous performance here} and Elephant In The Room presenting a poetic rendition of Lord Ganesha's story.

If you enjoy dance, keep an eye out for Surjit Nongmeikpam. If you’re craving some good music, it’d be criminal to miss Grammy-nominated flutist Shashank Subramanyam collaborate with Lelo Nika who plays the accordion oh-so-beautifully.

Anything Else?

We don’t want to leave you in the lurch, so here’s the city-wise schedule to help you plan better.
