Wear Is x India Cultural Hub Bring You Not Your Average Gully

The information in this post might be outdated

What Is It?

For some of us, shopping is quite the chore! The summer months make it harder to strut the gullies in search of the perfect kapda, gota, button and darzi… Wouldn’t you rather be sipping on a cocktail while your tailor and cloth seller assist you in your search for the perfect outfit?

Not Your Average Gully at Summerhouse Café, by India Cultural Hub and Wear Is The Discussion is an attempt at bringing various sellers and service providers under the same roof, quite literally.

Who Is It For?

Culture vultures, heritage hogs, design patakas and desi alcoholics – this quirky event is for you!

Why Should I Go For It?

You get to browse through kinaris and buttons, meet tailors, or get items ready-made from your favourite designers while sipping on Imli Sangrias and Kala Khatta Vodkas! Really, isn’t that reason enough?

Serioiusly, verything you hunt for all over town will be under one roof. Pick up cloth, gota to go with it, buy some embellishments and hand it over to a tailor to stitch—end the to & fro Sarojini, Lajpat, your local tailor et al.

#LBBTip

This is a rather posh open-air gully designed to fascinate you with glittering and tinkling trinkets, capture your attention with mirrored skirts, polished juttis, embroidered hems and charm you with all that local, rustic gully culture. Don’t forget to dress up and carry a hat.
