Every year, we patiently wait for book sales, and the Zubaan mela is one of our favourites. We’ve made it our life’s mission to lay siege on all their selection of classics and rare titles along with their evergreen assortment of feminist works. In fact, they tell us that they’ll even stock up on hardcore academic reads and cherished fiction at this week-long mela that kick-starts this Sunday {March 11} and goes on for a week till March 18. Oh, and they’ve got a curated section for writings from the North East. Yay!
If you call yourself a bookworm, you need to drop everything for a day and be at Zubaan’s base at Shahpur Jat {anytime between 11am to 8pm}. For your dedication to missing work or cancelling other hangout plans, they’ll reward you with a complimentary coffee and heavily discounted books. So, go show some love for the Zubaan folks who lovingly call themselves the “neighbourhood feminist aunties”.
