Shortcut

South Goa is for everyone who's tired of the tourists in the North and one of the most peaceful places on one end of Palolem beach, is Marron Sea View Resort. With the option of picking sea or garden view wooden cottages, this one promises to cocoon you from the busy stretches that are lined with shacks and blaring loud music.

What Makes It Awesome

Wooden cottages and cosy interiors in addition to the warm lighting make up for a really comfy stay at this resort. All the rooms come with a splendid seaside view and a sit-out. We were glad that they've got an aircon for summer months and hot water for those warm showers after a sunset swim... Everything to help us truly unwind.

So put your legs up, get yourself a chilled beer and enjoy the view and the breeze. It's the last property on the beach and remains very quiet. They have a beach-shack restaurant with periwinkle lined pathways and a decent collection of books. Plus, the place has courteous staff and some really yummy food. Their cottages are priced between 3-7k a night.

The only bummer is that since the spot is on the beach, they deconstruct during monsoons and rebuild before the next season. So it's better to call and check in between June and September. Oh, and wifi isn't the most reliable here.

Pro-Tip

The property is situated right at the beginning of the hillock behind which the Silent Headphone Party is located. Definitely, make it a point to check that out. You can also take a boat to Paradise Island and Butterfly Island and if you're lucky, you might also spot some dolphins from this place. If you're up for a walk, our favourite bar, Sundowner, is amazing to watch the sunset.

Other nice restaurants in Palolem include Little World, Zest, Sumaya and Magic Italy.
