Making you want to trade the shack life for some swish, homely vibes is this OYO Home in Dona Paula. And with hammocks and the relaxed vibes, it’s Goa 101.

Three Times The Fun

Unlike the OYO Rooms and OYO Townhouses that you are familiar with, OYO Home is for the squad and family who want something different. We’re pointing you in the direction of this beautifully designed three bedroom apartment that’s got a diving theme to its design. Shades of blue feature prominently, be it the walls or the lounge sofas. There’s enough of blue going around to make a Smurf happy. Hanging light fixtures, a suspended dining table, and floating beds further add to the theme.

Bedrooms are of three kinds with the master bedroom doubling up as space for everyone to gather around for a game night or catch up sesh. Its layout features a platform bed, a bunk bed, and a hammock bed. Dibs on the hammock for anyone planning to just laze around. The other two bedrooms feature a floating bed design with blue floors that give off that feeling you are in the middle of the sea. Prop yourself in the living room with a best-seller or settle down with a bottle of King’s in the hammock out on the balcony — there’s space for all.

Being Touristy

On our stay here, we discovered that you don’t need to hit Anjuna Beach or Miramar Beach to catch the sunset. The Dona Paula beach is just a hop, skip and jump away from the property. Plus, there’s the viewpoint near the jetty from where you can see the Cabo Raj Bhavan {the governor’s residence} in the distance. And catch the sun setting over the horizon. There’s plenty of other beaches too — Vainguinim Beach, Dias Beach, Marivel Beach, and Caranzalem Beach — all within the 3-kilometre radius. There are a couple of rent-a-bike service points nearby too. Rent a scooter and ride down to the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary or the Goa Science Centre and Planetarium. Be sure to stop by the Cabo Raj Bhavan for a photo-op.

Fish Thalis To Latin Quarters

Panaji is close to the property, so hitting up the place comes highly recommended. Start your day with breakfast at Aunty Maria where you could feast on anything from croissant rolls to Goan sausages. Before lunch, go and explore the heritage Latin Quarters of Panjim, the Fontainhas. The colourful exteriors of Viva Panjim are absolutely Insta-worthy. Leaving Goa without trying the Goan fish thali is a sin. While the beach shacks are far, Ritz Classic in Panjim makes up for that. Post lunch, you could head to Diwar Islands or head straight to Old Goa where you can check out the ruins of St. Augustine’s Chapel and visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus and the Church of St Francis of Assisi Velha. For dinner scenes, you could head to The Black Sheep Bistro where you can enjoy Goan and regional flavours with Western cuisine and plating style.

So, We Are Thinking...

The OYO Home is perfect to kick back and relax when you are checking in with the family {kids and all}, or with a large group of friends {up to six}. Plus, its proximity to Dona Paula and Panaji gives you enough of beach, food, and nightlife.

Price: INR 5,670 for the entire apartment. You cannot book a single room.

Since you are in Goa, you might want to check out these spots for seeing dolphins. And just in case you are on an extended holiday and are planning to hit a couple of more places, these spots for sunset and these hidden beaches should sort you out.
