This Hyderabad-based brand is founded by two friends, Rahul and Twinkle, who are only 22. On one of his travel escapades, Rahul stumbled upon a cafe in Gokarna brewing its kombucha; he was so intrigued that when he went back to his college in Manipal, he didn't just learn the craft of brewing it but also experimented with it. On his visit to Europe, he realised kombucha tasted a lot different because it was mass-produced there and that's when he understood the value of small-brewing process is. Thus, floated Hydra Kombucha. This brand only brews in small batches which is great because it gives out better taste, and ensures there's no wastage.
Hydra doesn't compromise on any heath benefits and they make use of fresh and high-quality ingredients, and at the moment, they offer three flavours: Masala Chai, Original, and Pineapple. The pineapple one is the first flavour Hydra launched — so they also refer to it as 'Gateway Kombucha' as it led to many people trying out the brand. While the Original is their non-fussy take on classic flavours of kombucha, their Masala Chai is a burst of flavours. Crisp, spicy, and complex — Masala Chai is inspired from Hyderabad's love for kombucha. Soon, Hydra is planning to launch Pomegranate Basil and Whisky Toasted Oak, which we cannot wait for.
