Recently, we've stumbled upon Lavenya Balasubramanian’s IG page and we couldn’t get our eyes off. This Hyderabadi artist is creating beautiful resin artwork with mushroom and they literally glow. Yes, you heard it right.
Been born and brought up in the city of Nizams, the young artist, who is also working for a British multinational investment bank, was always inclined towards dance but as years passed by, she realised that she needs to find another way to earn a living. This is how resin came into the picture but with a little story behind it.
It all started with a dried rose flower that she wanted to preserve. She did some research and came across resin. But the idea of preserving that one rose went beyond. She did a survey among her friends to understand the response if she starts creating pieces with resin. She began with shells and soon, she started getting orders. By July 2019, she set up her first stall in Our Sacred Space, followed by Lamakaan and then, Phoenix Arena which proved to be a hit for her. And since then, she has been creating these beautiful mini ocean pendants, shell key chains, pressed flower rings and so much more. The price of these creations starts at INR 400.
