Celebrate Telangana Formation Day With Authentic Delicacies At These Restaurants

The Telangana Formation Day is on June 2 and there are plenty of restaurants in Hyderabad that are ringing in celebrations with food. We mean, what defines a celebration better than a great meal? Wondering where to go for a proper Telangana meal? Here is a list of places that serve Telangana food in Hyderabad.

Telangana Spice Kitchen

Pappu Garela, Mudda Pappu - Pachi Pulusu, Koramenu Roast — does the mere mention of these dishes make your mouth water? Telangana Spice Kitchen in Jubilee Hills is where you can score Telangana dishes. They have local chefs and source raw materials from local farms, and for every festival or occasion, they add scrumptious dishes and host events. Making it all the more fun is the ambience with a wide open space, lawn, and walls adorned with beautiful framed paintings by local artists.

Cayenne

Cayenna at Mercure Hyderabad is hosting a food festival for us to get a taste of Telangana. With authentic delicacies like Mutton Pulao, Ouuru Kodipulusu (country chicken), Talakayakura (curried lamb head), Mutton Liver Fry, Dosakaipappu (cucumber dal), Sakinallu (a deep-fried savoury), Jowar Roti, Kobbarilauzu (a dessert made from coconut), Pongali, and a lot more, there is plenty of goodness to chow down. This food festival is from May 25-June 2.

Kobbarillu

Kobbarillu in Srinagar Colony is a rustic-themed restaurant that specialises in authentic meat dishes. It's almost like a hidden gem because it's tucked inside a nondescript building, and you'd be surprised when you spot it. Thatched roofs, painted bamboo shoots, and clay products are used as decor accents and when you walk in, you'll notice different sections. Go for Orugallu Mamsam Pulao or Ulavacharu Kodi Pulao and Telangana Mamsam Kura.

Simply South

Simply South by chef Chalapathi Rao does some of the best South Indian dishes. Offering you the vibes of a true South Indian home, this restaurant will engulf you in its old-world charm with Carnatic music playing in the background. Go here for Bagara Baingan, Ambada Kheema or Telangana Kodi Roast (Telangana Aloogadda Vepudu, for all those vegetarians in the house). You can also feast on Pitta Mamsam Vepudu and Uragai Mamsam.
