What Makes It Awesome

Get off at Baghbazar More, walk towards the railway line and you'll see a beautiful, tranquil ghat right in the heart of the city. Also known as the Mayer Ghat, this is one of the few ghats in the city that is clean and decently maintained. Those of you who take the ferry from the area would know but for those who don't, make sure you stop by for the immensely popular and beautiful Ganga Aarti that takes place soon after sunset.

This ancient ghat is where Sarada Ma spent her final days. Walk around the ghat and you'll spot a couple of platforms made for the evening aarti. There's enough place to sit and enjoy some 'me' time and take in the beauty of the peaceful surroundings. Watch out for the creative graffiti art on the walls as well as the beautiful Radha-Krishna temple. Take a ferry ride to Howrah or Belur for a surreal experience.

Pro-Tip

Make sure you reach before sunset. The view is breathtaking to say the least.
