Phones At The Ready: These 11 Cafes In Kolkata Will Light Up Your Insta Feeds

Tanya posted on 05 May

When summer vacation pictures run out, turn to these local joints to rack up some likes and light up your feed.

Artsy

Nestled in a small lane in AJC Bose Road, Artsy is one of the most recent additions to Kolkata’s hoard of picture-perfect cafes. It is the perfect coalescence of everything we love — tasteful interiors, handpicked paintings, a bunch of plants, an awesome collection of books, delicious coffee, and that pastel blue typewriter on a window sill! They also hold regular events here like small gigs and poetry performances. Seriously, you’re Insta feed will always lack those tasteful, aesthetic vibes without a picture clicked here – be it of you, or that beautiful Vietnamese Iced Coffee.

Sienna

Any list of Kolkata’s prettiest cafes cannot be complete without this mention. They have super Pinterest-y food (that is also so goddamn delicious), a beautiful decor that is sure to impress you the moment you step in, and visitors that are nothing but classy and tasteful. Even their cups and plates are pretty, man! Never not going to be our favourite, Sienna is the place you want to go to with your bestie (don’t forget to post those beautiful selfies!). You can also checkout the Sienna Store for an awesomesauce collection of all things stylish and chic.

Cocoa Bakery

In the same lane as Artsy is Cocoa Bakery, the place to head to if you want serious vacay feels. They also have an outlet in Alipore. With its woody decor and aesthetic character, it is perfect if you’re looking to spend some quaint, quiet time. They have both, indoor and outdoor seating options. Don’t forget to take your book – especially if you want that heavenly, tinted, coffee, book and wooden tabletop shot. Their baked goods too, are super for that Insta snap, like their perfectly piped cupcakes or their little pastries.

The Country House

With large French windows, and picturesque white walls that remind us of a certain other favourite cafe in Park Circus (we’ll give you 3 guesses), The Country House is another page out of the Pinterest book. They serve their food in the coolest of ways, have the prettiest decor (we especially heart those golden frames on the wall!), and is the best place to head to for a chat over coffee with your BFF.

Wabi Sabi

Perhaps the most striking of all, Wabi Sabi is your place if those naturalistic, ancient aesthetic is your thing. They have gorgeous golden interiors and lovely paintings hung throughout. Their food is also amazingly delicious, especially for a veg-only restaurant. We totally dig their rustic ambience and wooden decors, and more than anything, their boutique goodies! Wabi Sabi is just the right amount of Kolkata with just the right amount of exoticness.

Terminal 11

Salt Lake is steadily catching up with the rest of Kolkata in terms of must-visit cafes and restaurants. Terminal 11 has been around for a while now, and still remains one of the coolest places to spend a while at. They have an evergreen décor (I hope you understand what I’m saying), and have a good menu and hearty meals. We especially heart their book collection and those cosy seats. Snap your squad here, chilling on those bean bags or yourself, with that book and your coffee mug.

This pretty-pretty café in Hindustan Park is just the right shade of perfection. Their outdoor seating space is just so cute! We love those white littles fences and those potted plants. The Tea Place

Stepping into the delightful The Tea Place By Manjushree will make you feel like a Duchess having tea in her boudoir. The two-floor tea boutiquet is yet another addition to the flourishing food scene on Purna Das Road. The place is inspired by Parisian tea rooms {or is it Brit?} and old-fashioned English high teas with toasted finger sandwiches, dainty china cups and all the formality a Downton Abbey lover could wish for.
