SaturdayNightPlans: Book A Spot At This French Food Pop-Up

The information in this post might be outdated

What Is It?

Let’s get a little innovative with our Saturday night dates, shall we? We suggest you ditch overcrowded restaurants and pubs and go for this luxurious French pop-up spread by chef par excellence Sulagna Mitra this Saturday. Apart from the fact that she has already done a one-of-a-kind, Enid Blyton-themed food pop-up earlier this year (you had to pass a quiz to book a seat!), her Le Cordon Bleu and ITC Sonar Bangla experience should make your Saturday night a grand success!

Who Is It For?

To quote her, her French cuisine pop-up has been ‘specially curated to appeal to both the amateur food enthusiast and connoisseur alike.’ So you can be anything ranging from the next big food critic to the introvert who prefers staying in with Chinese takeout, but the food would charm everyone equally. Even though the last pop-up was a more DIY affair with a rooftop and fairy lights, this one is all set to be prim and proper- an air-conditioned room decorated to vibe you into the Frenchness of it all. You can even chat-up with the chef over the kitchen counter (it’s an open kitchen), and you can be sure about the quality of the food you’re getting. No compromises there.

Why Should I Go?

Well, French cuisine is not a cuisine you will encounter easily in the city or have five courses of, for just 1.5k, so if you want to try it, or re-experience it, why not give this pop-up a shot? Plus her multiple degrees from a culinary school headquartered in Paris is also an added bonus, amirite? The menu has all the French classics, think creme brulee, baguette dumplings, cheese platter and of course, zealous helpings of wine. (But if you’re allergic to dairy, eggs, or mustard, you should prolly steer clear.)

Anything Else?
