Ten-Second Takeaway

Salt Lake is an area bustling with some of the city’s best places, be it cafes, bars, malls, and now, even gaming parlours. Check out these cool places if you’re looking for awesome gaming experiences.

VIREL

First of the lot, VIREL (Virtual Reality Entertainment and Leisure) is the newest revolution in the gaming field in the city. This café offers an immersive reality experience through head-mounted displays via HTC Vives and Oculus equipments. They have shooting, skiing, space fighting, and even zombie games.

The rates are INR 350 per hour for one person, with unlimited gaming. Or you can get a private room for 4 at INR 600. You can also get a monthly membership here.

Smash Street

Although not exactly a gaming parlour, Smash Street has been winning hearts since they opened back in 2015. From a good-enough range of PS3 games, indoor games like foosball, Laser Tag, and air hockey, plenty of board games and a tasty menu, Smash Street has it all. They also have a quirky layout and free WiFi which is probably why it’s still our favourite hangout.

Smash Street is open from 10:30am to 10pm. And they have a capacity of up to 65 people — so there’s plenty of room for everyone!

Gamer’s Den

One of the most popular places amongst gamers, Gamer’s Den is the perfect place to chill at with your buddies. Play games like FIFA, WWE, Call of Duty, Street Fighter, or their current favourite, God of Wars. They have PS3, PS4 and XBOX facilities, as well as snooker, 8 ball pool, and foosball. Their ambience is absolutely lit, and a perfect background for the badass games you will play here. You will be charged as per the game you choose to play.

INFI Lounge

Slowly but steadily taking over the gaming arena in Salt Lake is INFI Lounge. This cafe stocks games such as CSGO, Dota 2, Overwatch, Paladins, Rainbow Six Siege, and PUBG.

Apart from this, head here for the live gigs, spoken-word poetry performances, stand-up comedy acts, and other events they host at their mini lounge. Looking for a place to watch that cricket match with your friends, on the big screen? Try their private movie theatre, where you can screen movies, TV shows, sports, etc. And if you’re a budding singer trying to make it in the big world, watch out for their recording studio, being built specially for young artists, YouTubers, and short-film makers.

If you’re looking to avail the movie theatre, set aside INR 2,000 for a booking of 3 hours, or INR 3,000 for 6 hours. The lounge can be booked at INR 1,500 for an hour. And if you’re heading here for the hella cool games they have, pay INR 40 for an hour, or get their membership for INR 5,000, and game unlimitedly every month.

Call me snobbish, but I only prefer classics: like vanilla ice cream, and yellow Lays. My best friends think my autobiography should be named “But That’s Too Cliché” – apparently, I’m allergic to all things obvious. (I hope you see the irony).
