Bombay Brasserie is celebrating kokum, a unique fruit found in the Western Ghats, with a festival.

Chow Down

One of the very few places in the city to celebrate this unique fruit, Bombay Brasserie’s special kokum menu packs a flavourful punch. You’ll get kokum curry in two varieties — a veggie corn-based curry and a non-vegetarian seafood delight. The non-vegetarian curry comes with large chunks of generously portioned prawns, the subtle flavours of which complement the punchy taste of the kokum-based curry. Both dishes come with a side of perfectly cooked aromatic rice and a fresh salad.

Kokum is a sweet-sour fruit found in the Western Ghats. At Bombay Brasserie, they don’t use the fresh fruit rather a dehydrated version which lends more sour and bold flavours to the dishes.

Sip On

Not just food, the special menu has drinks too. The sussegad is a kokum-based cocktail with a generous dose of vodka — if you’re a fan of berry-based drinks {think along the line of Cosmos} you’ll thoroughly enjoy this refreshing drink. Not up for booze? Their kokum cocktail has a hit of spice and is equally refreshing.

Anything Else?

Did you know that Bombay Brasserie tries to hero and celebrate a new ingredient every month? In the past, they have had a pomegranate menu. They try to keep the ingredient unique and one that is seasonal. Their regualr menu also has dishes from across the country {you’ll find a bunch of dishes not commonly found in the city}.
