Here's a chance to look at life through the lens of ace photographers from around the world. The Kolkata International Photography Festival has kicked off yesterday, and it's shaping up to be Asia's largest of its kind. More than 250 artists from across 40 countries will be showcasing their photographs, and we are not skipping this chance to peek around the world through their brilliant frames.
Irfan Nabi, Raghu Rai, Kounteya Sinha to India's proud achievers Sudipta Sengupta (first Indian woman to set foot in Antarctica) and Satyarup Siddhanta (only Indian to climb Mount Sidley, Antarctica's tallest volcanic summit) and others - this exhibition will take you on an epic trip around the world like never before.
Not just places, the photo exhibition will also tell you stories of several socio-political practices and issues like those modern sea bathing culture in The Netherlands, tribulations faced by Bangladeshi migrants, minority commmunities celebrating in Pakistan, human trafficking in Italy and so much more. From Japan to Ethiopia, you can check out the works of international photographers like Ami Vitale (USA) Greg Marinovich (South Africa), Liam Larson (Mozambique), Carlos Saavendra (Colombia), Abir Abdullah (Bangladesh), Wolfgang Zurborn Germany), Hao Wu Young (China), Kiyoshi Niiyama (Japan), Filippo Pomano (Italy) and others in the show.
