What Makes It Awesome

For those of you who are guilty of splurging on (and hoarding) notebooks, Anushri Chordia agrees she is in the same boat. After all, you can never get enough of those. Pursuing her love for notebooks, she teamed up with her husband, Akshay Hajare, to start Mug Aur Mooch, an online stationery store dedicated to handcrafted notebooks.

Created by a community of craftswomen in Koramangala, the books are all hand-bound and feature hand-embroidered geometrical patterns or motifs on the cover. Oh, and neon-coloured pages (you get to choose the colour) to bring out the writer or doodler in you.

While they currently have five series of notebooks, what we love about them is that there are different ‘characters’ introduced with a book, with a small story of sorts to go with it (on the back cover). So, the Dog Series Pocketbooks have doggie doodles done in an adorable origami style and feature breeds such as the Bull Dog, Corgi, Poodle and Scottish Terrier. Apart from sequinned notebooks and artist sketchbooks, they have a series of Thought Books (our favourite), perfect for a personal diary.

Looking for something more? Keep an eye out for their frames, DIY kits for children, notepads, seasonal gift sets and mugs.
