There’s a new food festival in town and the spread has us salivating! You can pair up the experience with some fantastic rain-drenched views from the tenth floor of this restaurant! Psst, their veggie dishes are as yummy as their non-veg! So what are you waiting for?

What’s Rampuri About?

Rampuri cuisine has roots in the more popular Mughlai and Awadhi family. Whole spices or ‘khada masala’ (think cinnamon, peppercorns, cardamom, cumin and cloves) is ubiquitous to a Rampuri dish along with hot yellow chilis and thick ‘taar’ curries (so thick, they can be cut by a wire).

What’s On The Menu?

The Kacche Gosht ki Tikia or minced mutton tikia was full of flavour and cooked live. Its vegetarian counterpart – Dahi ke Tikia – was tart and creamy and we may have enjoyed it more than the meat! The Tar Qorma was rich like the cuisine’s history and paired well with the light Tairi rice.

But our favourite part of the menu was the sweet section! We were surprised by the unusual combination of Shimla Mirch (capsicum) and gosht with halwa! Both tasted gorgeous and the Gulatthi – a cousin of kheer and phirni – was a cool and refreshing end to our heavy meal.

Anything Else?

Seasonal Tastes is on the 10th floor of the Westin hotel. When you look up, the ceiling reaches up to the top floor and you can spot the elevators sliding up and down. Cool, right? The dining space has rows of big windows that offer an unobstructed view of the lush Rajarhat scenery. When it rains, it’s perfect for staring out while gobbling up hot food!

The food festival is on till July 1 (7:30pm to 11pm). It’s priced at INR 1,399+ taxes. For reservations, call 033 40371234.
