Have yoiu heard of the Bat-tala woodcuts from Bengal? Woodcut is among the oldest printmaking techniques in the world and continues to be a strong graphic tradition today. Now you can pick up the basics at this workhop organised by Kolkata's new art space Janus. It will enable you to plan, cut and print your own woodcut or linocut (similar to Nadalal Bose's illustrations in Tagore's primer, Sahaj Path). Learn to design and cut your print using chisels and to print your woodblocks by hand. The workshop will be held by renowned artist Srikanto Paul. Seats are limited, so book soon.
