Keep your wallet and taste buds happy at this cosy and affordable café in Jodhpur Park.

Chow Down

Craving some good cafe-style food, but on a tight budget? Roasted Beans in Jodhpur Park is your go-to place. Their menu has all the classic dishes — think thin-crust pizzas and the usual pasta, bruschettas and crostinis {at just INR 130 and 140 respectively}. More importantly, they are affordable and worth the buck. They also whip up some really great Chinese dishes.

The interiors give off a cosy feel — great for a snug date with bae.

Coming to their food  —  we absolutely loved their pizzas {INR 180 onwards} and chicken bruschetta — crunchy at the bottom and soft and gooey with chicken, sauces and cheese on top. The quantity in each dish is ample, so if you’re very hungry or want to share with a friend, there’s enough for everyone.

In fact, their fish and chips {INR 230} come with two big pieces of batter-fried fish {both of which are equally juicy and well made!}.

The Roasted Beans Pork Special {INR 350} is a generous quantity of pork, mashed potatoes and vegetables enough to fill your appetite. Popcorn chicken is a great starter if you want some munchies while you wait for the main course. We absolutely loved the dip they serve with it — mayo with a tang of mustard.

We ended the meal with the nolen gur cheesecake — which is a must-try before the nolen gur season is over. Brownie points for the Instaworthy plating!

Sip On

There are plenty to choose from in the beverages menu — we chose the Kitkat cappuccino and weren’t disappointed. They grind the coffee beans with Kitkat — if you’re a coffee lover, this is something you should really try. If you want to work over your cup of coffee, they also have free Wi Fi!

Anything Else?

Roasted Beans is famous for the variety of independent local bands they host almost every week on Fridays and Saturdays, so you might discover some great live music to accompany your meal. Not just that, on Wednesdays they host stand-up comedians. Tollywood actor Abir Chatterjee has also visited the café to celebrate the premiere of his films, so you never know, you might just bump into your favourite celeb when you visit! There’s also something fun coming up in the café for Valentine’s, so keep tabs on their facebook page.
