Bachelorette 101: Surprise Your BFF with A Trip to Singapore with the Whole Gang

The information in this post might be outdated

Your BFF’s about to get hitched and all the pressure’s on you to throw her the most unforgettable party of her life. What do you do? It’s simple – Get all your girls together and plan a getaway to Singapore. Dance the night away at some of the best nightclubs in the world, sip on yummy cocktails, eat succulent seafood and shop till you drop. Need help with your itinerary? We’ve got your back.

Places To Stay

Wanderlust

Wanderlust screams quirky the minute you walk in. The lobby is filled with barber chairs, a foosball table, magazines and lots of board games. This “play area” merges with the wooden well-stocked bar, giving way to a colourful dining area.

Now you may be tempted to spend all your time at the reception but do not give in just yet and please do head to the rooms! Available in a bunch of categories {every floor has a theme}, we’re biased towards the Pantone Deluxe rooms. The first floor rooms are in shades of green and blue fading to purple and finally orange and red. Think low beds {often just a big fat mattress}, lots of natural light and a bathtub placed at the entrance (mmmm spunky!).

For a lot of us, where smell may be a big decision maker when it comes to picking where to stay – in case you are wondering, this one is citrusy.

#LBBTip: The Treehouse room or the Spaceship room are great picks if you’re travelling with kids.

Where: 2 Dickson Road

Sentosa

Fancy a ‘Bollywood’ type Bachelorette, well you can live that on this island. Sentosa is a one-stop shop for all your vacation needs. It’s got beaches, hotels, bars, clubs, Universal Studio and spas!

Start of your day enjoying the rides at Universal Studios Singapore with your girls for reliving those childhood days and for your evening party plans – what beats a party onboard a private yacht in unknown waters. You can also surprise the bride to be with a screening of her favorite movie under the stars! If you are a gang that wants to stay put in one place and not travel around the city, then Sentosa is your answer.

#LBBTip: Hit Tanjong Beach in the day for some quite sun bathing time with the girls and Siloso Beach for a mad night of beach cocktails and parties. The So Spa by Sofitel is a personal fav!

Raffles Hotel

Personally, we love old buildings from the colonial era and that’s exactly what Raffles Hotel is – as regal are the exteriors, the interiors are completely in sync. Imagine 103 suites equipped with everything you could ask for. And if you’re going all out, book the palm court suite so you and your girls can walk out at any moment and enjoy a round of cocktails in the outdoors.

If your group is seeking luxury, you’ll get it here.

#LBBTip: Don’t forget to gorge on the Goat Cheese Mousse and the Wasabi Fries at Halia.

The Fullerton Bay

If modern and contemporary is more your girl gang’s style, The Fullerton Bay is your place. Book a room overlooking the bay and enjoy a day in with your girls just lazing around drinking a Merlion cocktail.

Marina Bay Sands

We’re going to say it out loud: how much ever you have heard of this place before it doesn’t do justice till you experience the stay here. If you ask us, we’d just sit by the large bay windows and watch those ant like cars zigzag their way across whilst we pop bottle after bottle of the finest Champagne. We’d recommend the Sands Suite or the Bay Suite to max on all the views. And a spa session is mandatory, of course.

#LBBTip: Make sure you get an Instagram worthy picture in the infinity pool at the top of the hotel.

New Majestic

The first thing which draws your attention at New Majestic are the chairs; the lobby is filled with them. And we’re not talking about the usual run-of-the-mill chairs. There are chairs with spikes, chairs with holes {not big enough for you to fall through}, and chairs shaped like amoeba. We weren’t surprised when we learned that the owner’s a collector. We’re secretly hoping he scores the GoT throne soon.

A winding staircase leads up to the pool and the rooms. We fell in love with the quirkiness some of the rooms presented- traffic lights over the beds, triangular showers and bathtubs in the balconies! There’s a surprise waiting for you in every corner, basically.

We especially loved the attic suites where you can soak into a bath in front of the TV. So much win.

Places To Eat

Holland Village

Holland Village is super fun and ideal for a girl’s night out. Not only is it dotted with the best pubs {if bar hopping is your jam, we’ve found your place} but also some really great cafes.

#LBBTip: Walk a little away from all the hustle and bustle and you’ll come across 2 AM Dessert Bar- a haven for dessert and well blended cocktails.  {Insert link for 2 AM Bar here}.

Dempsey

You’ll know its Dempsey when you see bunch of fancy cars parked together. Our absolute favorite place here is PS Cafe, which hands down does the best Sticky Date Pudding in Singapore {maybe even the world… we still haven’t found a better one}. We’d also bookmark this place for lunches with the girls.

#LBBTip: Sticky Date Pudding and the Chocolate Cake with some tea  and your afternoon is well spent.

Shop

Haji Lane

Haji Lane houses a line of boutiques filled with designer clothes, shoes, jewellery, accessories and perfumes. It’s mildly reminiscent of Shahpur Jat {minus all the lehngas} and here’s where you head when you’re looking for one-of-a-kind pieces of anything.

Orchard Road

One of the busiest streets in Singapore, Orchard Road is home to a myriad of interesting cafes, bars and almost all luxury brands. Just walk around and explore on your own; you’re bound to stumble across some kitschy local designers alongside designers such as Prada and Louis Vuitton. You’ll even find super cheap street shopping in parts.

Party

Ann Siang Hill

Nestled between Chinatown and Telok Ayer, lies Ann Siang Hill – the coolest and most hip place in Singapore for bar hopping. It houses a mix of trendy and secret speakeasy bars, intimate restaurants and chic boutiques.

We suggest a night of early dinner and bar hopping after some boutique shopping. Our favorite being Operation Dagger for its secrecy and house made custom cocktails. If you can’t make up your mind, go for their Omakase Set {set of six custom cocktails and some bar snacks}.

#LBBTip: Operation Dagger for their house made custom cocktails and Oxwell & Co. for their Gin Tonic on tap!

Clarke Quay

Save Clarke Quay for a Saturday night because that’s when it truly comes alive. We felt like the entire island had gathered here. There’s a bunch of bars to choose from. Our picks would include Warehouse {insert link} and Prive {insert link}. The latter even has a board game version of Never Have I Ever- girl bonding time.

There also some clubs where you can bring out those Bollywood moves you’ve been hiding.

1 Altitude

You haven’t experienced pub culture in Singapore till you’ve partied on the 63rd floor. Read more here.

28 HongKong Street

For that perfect girls night out, we recommend this NewYork speakeasy style bar. Read more here.

Party Buses

Up for partying the night away on the streets of Singapore? Enter, Party Buses. These are essentially mini vans equipped with disco lights, drink holders and loudspeakers for you to share your music with the world.

Many of these buses also offer cocktails. Just get spruced up, hop aboard and sing and dance into oblivion. What better way to celebrate your friend getting hitched?

Things To Do

Scuba Diving

We know all that eating, drinking and partying is what you want to do on a bachelorette. But you cannot miss out on the experience of swimming with the fishes and exploring the underwater world. So get up early one day (however difficult that is) and head to Deep Blue Scuba – professionals here can teach you to scuba dive in four days!

Universal Studios Singapore

Get your adrenaline on at the Batllestar Galactica duelling roller coasters at Universal Studios. It’s terrifying, it’s exciting and it’s something we all want to experience with our closest friends. We’d honestly sit on every single ride here- just make sure you don’t go here after a sesh of drinking, you’re going to need your wits.

End it with a visit into the Hershey’s store because..Do you really need a reason??
