If you live in and around Bandra, you’re probably aware of the health conscious, gym-clothes clad humans floating around. Adding to the conscious sub-culture, Craving Salads has opened up on Pali Mala road right next to Sequel Bar and Bistro.

A Salad A Day...Keeps The Bandra Folks Awake

Shaheen Baga moved to Mumbai from New York four years back, bringing with her the New Yorker lifestyle packed in her bags. With her husband, she set out to replicate her salads days from NYC, and how. Craving Salads is her baby {post having her own baby last year}, and they serve organic, and calorie-counted salads, along with a section of protein packed salads.

The decor is minimal, all-white and has witty coasters telling you why salad isn’t your bottom of the food chain item.

Chow Down

We Indians are colourful and ardent fans of flavours when it comes to our food. Serve us the faffy leaves and veggies in the name of a salad and we will probably never invite you over for dinner ever again.

Craving Salad in that sense, offers more than just those leaves. They offer wholesome salads, with fruits, nuts, cheese and much more. Shaheen quips in to add, “A salad may not be necessarily healthy but it needs to be filling.” And so when you pick up the menu, find a calorie-count and protein count {for the protein packed salads}. Most of the salads have a vinegar base, laden with only organic and fresh ingredients and cheese that has been imported from NYC.

They have signature salads of which the chicken taco salad {INR 295} is our favourite. It’s a mix of tortilla strips, cheddar cheese, home-cooked chicken pieces with a hint of mango – so subtle, and so good. For the vegetarians, caprese avocado salad {INR 250}, and the quinoa fruit salad {INR 250} is a must try.

#LBBTip: They also do a good range of healthy smoothies. If you’r in the mood of love, get yourself orange ginger glow {which is vegan and gluten-free} for INR 225.

So, We're Saying...

You’ll find Shaheen often serving there, or chilling there talking to the guests and recounting her NYC days. As far as the salads go, we think we just found our new favourite go-to place.

They deliver in and around Bandra via Zomato too.
