I am sure that the title must have set you thinking: ‘Oh another one of those “Bandruh” recommendations!’ But let me set my agenda right. I have always loved Bandra. Not because who won’t but because the warmth, the love, the refreshing vibes minus the traffic that this place oozes really sets it apart. Right from the color splashed by lanes to the Christmas spirit that this nook of Bombay echoes, here’s a lowdown on a Bandra outing with tad bit difference:
1) Ditch the best of cafes and set out on a date with yourself
Bandra has plentiful options for us fancy cafe addicts but Bandra has a lot more to offer than what meets the eye. Be tad bit more adventurous and slip into the narrow yet high spirited Ranwar, Chimbai and Chuim Streets. Must visits: The Village Shop, American Express Bakery, Birdsong cafe (In case you are looking for something slightly healthier)
2) Grass is always greener on this side and sun? Always prettier!
However much we might curse the traffic, the ‘golden hour’ walks in Bandra are a lot to take a day off for. Find your own sweet little street, whip out your favorite playlist and take in the love that the sunset has to offer you. From St. John Street to the cozy streets of Ranwar, every street will have a tail of its own as the Bougainvillea and Frangipani would want to narrate, and at almost every nook and corner!
3) “I would want a house like that!”
Now that really is me, I have walked around Pali hill and gasped at the pretty houses but have by far been mesmerised by this studio apartment of my dreams which I’d always see faintly lit but so extremely welcoming. Try it! Take a walk around the cozy by-lanes of Bandra and gawk at the beautiful history and the pleasant present. Bandra really never disappoints a person who’s so serious about house gazing. (We shall not say anything about house hunting)
4) Is that Archie, Veronica and Reggie for real?
Well no, we aren’t talking about a Bandra version of Riverdale but here’s letting out a secret. Bandra does really have a Veronica street, A Reggie mansion and no it isn’t fictional! If you really feel like ‘Exploring’ Bandra, head straight to the inner lanes of Ranwar village and see your Childhood unfold as soon as you walk into the Ranwar Streets. P.S. 5) Some retail therapy never really hurt anyone
Bandra has some upbeat options to offer for all the curious shoppers. ‘The Shop’, ‘The Urban Desi Store’ and ‘On My Own’ are the stores you’d visit just for some radiant good vibes even while you might not be in the mood to shop! They really are a stress buster.
